The Partners

Syngenta has partnered with Commercial Estates Group and Taylor Wimpey to provide the breadth of expertise required for the design and delivery of the world-class Science and Innovation Park, vibrant Garden Village and supporting infrastructure and facilities.

Syngenta is a global company with headquarters in Switzerland. 28,000 employees in 90 countries are working to transform how crops are grown and protected.

We accelerate our innovation and invest to advance a more sustainable agriculture which is good for nature, farmers and society.

Our work helps farmers to face the challenges of today’s changing world. Farmers must adapt to the effects of climate change, improve the soil and enhance biodiversity, and respond to society’s views on food and agricultural technology. And we are transparent about what we’re doing and the impact it is making.

We invest substantially in R&D, and collaborate not only with growers, but also with academia, NGOs, businesses and governments so that we address the needs of nature, farmers and consumers.

Prince Philip Park

In 2015 Taylor Wimpey, working in joint venture with Dorchester Regeneration, were selected as Development Manager for the Ministry of Defence to deliver the redevelopment of Prince Philip Barracks in Bordon, Hampshire. Once complete, Prince Philip Park will be a mixed tenure development of 2,400+ private, affordable, PRS, elderly care, rent to buy and custom build homes that meet the needs of the local market. The housing will be supported by a new town centre, employment space, a 54 hectare SANG, skate park, Sports Pavilion, primary and secondary schools some of which were delivered before the first homes for the benefit of the existing community.

Following the relocation of Army personnel, we have focused on a programme of meanwhile uses and community-based events to open up the site and raise the profile of the development. This ranges from operating open-air cinemas, trail walks, fitness classes and roller discos, to offering affordable workspace and letting existing buildings to local businesses. Working in partnership with the Local Authority (EHDC), Prince Philip Park was one of ten sites to be awarded Healthy New Town status by NHS England. This has involved working with a broad range of stakeholders and partners to improve the quality of place to help people be healthy, active and independent by delivering programmes such as interactive wayfinding methods, grow your own food opportunities, and holding cycling and setting up park run events. Working with local schools, colleges and businesses we are also creating jobs, education and training opportunities for local people.
